Chapter 185

Meanwhile, Isabella had returned home. Since her plans for the day had progressed significantly, she decided to cook a lavish dinner.

While busy in the kitchen, Isabella received a message from Juniper. Learning that Jasper and Mia had been taken to the police station, she smiled with satisfaction.

"Next, we'll see if the private detective can uncover any more evidence against my parents," Isabella said with a smile, putting her phone away and continuing to cook.

At that moment, Michael suddenly came home.

"Why are you back so early? Shouldn't you be at work?" Isabella asked with a smile.

Michael smiled awkwardly and said, "Didn't you say you were inviting friends over to celebrate? So I took the day off to come home early and prepare."

Michael walked into the kitchen and hugged Isabella from behind, but his eyes were scanning the living room.

"Honey, did you happen to pick up any packages or did anyone come by to deliver something?" Michael asked cautiously.

Isabella shook her head in confusion. "No, no one has come by since I got home. Did you order something online?"

"Well, just some ordinary crafts," Michael replied, his smile a bit strained.

In fact, he had planned to come home later for the celebration, but he suddenly remembered something important. Because he had been pushing himself too hard in bed, he was feeling weak and had asked Benjamin to find a doctor from Emberlyn for him.

Michael had secretly visited the doctor's clinic, where he was prescribed some medicine. Today was the day the medicine would be ready.

Since it was a private matter, Michael hadn't even told Jerry. When the clinic called to ask where to deliver the medicine, he instinctively gave his home address.

By the time Michael realized his mistake, he quickly called the clinic, only to be told that the medicine was already on its way. Worse still, the delivery person's phone was unreachable.

Michael felt a surge of panic. He couldn't bear to think how Isabella would react if she found out he had ordered those medicines.

To save face, he came home early, but it seemed he had arrived too soon.

'What is that damn guy doing? Why hasn't he delivered the medicine yet? My sudden return will make Isabella suspicious,' Michael thought angrily.

Just then, Isabella, who was preparing ingredients, turned around and looked at Michael with a serious expression, making him feel nervous.

"What's wrong, darling? Aren't you preparing the ingredients?" Michael asked with a forced smile.

Isabella looked Michael up and down suspiciously, feeling that something was off with him today.

"Are you hiding something from me? You seem very nervous," Isabella asked, her suspicion growing.

"How could that be? I'll never hide anything from you," Michael said, hugging Isabella's waist and kissing her on the lips.

Despite his affectionate gesture, Isabella's suspicion remained.

"No, something is definitely off. Let me guess, does this have anything to do with the package you mentioned earlier?" Isabella speculated.

'She's so smart! That's my wife! But how can I tell her about this? It's too embarrassing,' Michael thought, shaking his head seriously.

"No, it has nothing to do with any package," Michael said earnestly.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door.

A man outside called out, "Is this Williams' residence? Your medicine has arrived!"

"Medicine? Why did you buy medicine?" Isabella asked, puzzled, as she left the kitchen to open the door.

A young man stood outside, looking at Isabella with confusion. "Is this Mr. Williams' residence?"

"I'm his wife. What kind of medicine is this?" Isabella asked, taking the bag from the young man.

The young man was about to answer when he felt a chill. He saw Michael standing behind Isabella, glaring at him.

The young man laughed nervously and said, "It'll help you beat fatigue, get more energy, boost your immune system, and even slow down aging. I'm outta here."

With that, the young man quickly turned and ran, desperate to escape immense pressure from Michael.

"Slowing aging and boosting immunity? Darling, did you buy it for me? Do you think I'm aging too fast?" Isabella asked, glaring at Michael.

Michael rolled his eyes, grabbed the bag from Isabella, and opened the still-warm medicine pack, drinking it all in one go.

"My God, this is more bitter than coffee. It's for me, not you," Michael said.

Isabella tilted her head in confusion, looking at Michael. "You think you're getting old? But you're only a few years older than me."

Just then, Michael's phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and hesitated to answer, which only made Isabella more suspicious.

"It's just a phone call. Why are you afraid to answer? I'm curious to know who's calling you," Isabella said calmly, a smile playing on her lips.

Michael had no choice but to answer the call in front of her.

A slightly elderly voice came through the phone. "Mr. Williams, I forgot to mention earlier that the medication you purchased is just for the first course. Finish it and see how it works. If you and your wife are still not satisfied with your sex life, we can try the second course."

"Alright, I understand," Michael said, hanging up with a scowl on his face.

Isabella's face turned bright red. She now understood what the medicine was for.
